Reduce the risk news_Lower alcohol limit

Lower alcohol limits are now in place for drivers aged over 20 years. The limit lowers from 400mcg of alcohol per litre of breath to 250mcg, and from 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood to 50mg (from 0.08 to 0.05). For drivers under 20 the limit remains zero.

Adult drivers blowing 251-400mcg of alcohol per litre of breath will be fined $200 and receive 50 demerit points on their licence. All drivers above 400mcg will face court charges.

Drinking and driving should never be mixed, so if you’re doing one don’t do the other. Drive sober to protect yourself and your whanau.
